Posted Jan 11
The Psychology Department at Franklin & Marshall College invites applications for two visiting assistant professors (if Ph.D. in hand by July 1, 2017) and/or visiting instructors (if ABD) during academic year 2017-2018. Appointment is for a one-year term with possibility of extension for a second year contingent upon teaching performance and administrative approval. Teaching load is 3/2. Successful candidates will contribute to at least two of the following teaching areas: Design and Statistics; Developmental Psychology; and Animal Behavior/Comparative Psychology. The department also has interest in teaching contributions in Moral Psychology and Human Cognition.

The department is committed to excellence in scholarship and teaching, emphasizing student research and lab experience throughout the curriculum. Pursuant to the college’s vision for cultivating a diverse and inclusive community, the search committee will ask all applicants to address how their past and/or potential contributions might serve to advance F&M’s commitment to teaching and mentoring young people from a variety of personal experiences, values, and worldviews that arise from differences of culture and circumstance.

Please electronically submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, graduate transcript, three letters of recommendation, a statement of teaching philosophy, and teaching evaluation forms free of charge via Interfolio at http://apply.interfolio.com/40022. In your cover letter, address your fit for the position and explicitly indicate which of the aforementioned teaching areas you can serve. Submission of a research statement and selected pre/reprints is optional. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, but for best consideration submit materials by February 13, 2017. Inquiries may be directed to Dr. Krista Casler, [email protected].
