Assistant Professor Behavioral Neuroscience: University of Mississippi, Dept Biology

The Department of Biology at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Behavioral Neuroscience. Candidates whose research spans multiple levels of analysis are especially encouraged to apply. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, synaptic plasticity, neurogenomics, glial cell function, and integrative neural circuits.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally-funded research program, train graduate students, and teach courses in their area of expertise including physiology and neuroscience. We have a vibrant broad-based biology department that consists of 22 tenure-track and 15 instructional faculty members, educates 900 undergraduate biology majors and 45 graduate students (Ph.D. and M.S.), and serves as the home of the interdisciplinary neuroscience minor. We are seeking candidates who complement and extend our strengths in neuroscience and behavior, symbiosis and species interactions, cell and molecular biology, or biodiversity and conservation biology (http://olemiss.edu/depts/biology).
