Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the School of Psychology, to begin in August 2020. Although the specialty area is open, preference will be given to candidates with expertise in cognitive psychology broadly defined. This includes, but is not limited to, animal behavior and comparative cognition, cognitive development, decision-making, learning and memory, and other cognitive sciences.

We are seeking candidates with a commitment to excellence in teaching, research and service who will embody our emphasis on student success. Specific responsibilities include: (a) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, (b) conducting high quality, programmatic research, (c) seeking research funding, and (d) advising and mentoring undergraduate students.

Founded at the dawn of the Space Race in 1958, Florida Institute of Technology is the only independent, technological university in the Southeast, and offers degree programs at undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels. Located two miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean in Melbourne, FL, Florida Tech mixes the excitement of rocket launches from nearby Kennedy Space Center with the laidback atmosphere of a beach community. Additionally, the nearby Brevard Zoo has been rated one of the top 30 in the country by US News and World Report, and the zoo extensively collaborates with the School of Psychology faculty and students in our animal behavior concentration. The School of Psychology has a collegial and productive faculty and offers several bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in psychology.
