Postdoctoral Opening: Visual Ecology in Primates

Job Description
We are seeking applicants for a 3-year postdoctoral researcher to join our NSF-funded project examining the impact of eye morphology on gaze perception in captive monkeys and apes. The start date is flexible but the position could begin in early 2020. The project is led by Dr. Jessica Yorzinski (Texas A&M University; College Station, TX) and Dr. Steve Schapiro (MD Anderson; Bastrop, TX).
 
The project will be based in Bastrop, TX at the Keeling Center for Comparative Medicine and Research. Bastrop is approximately 45 minutes from Austin, TX and 1 hr 15 min from College Station (Texas A&M University).
 
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a strong understanding of basic principles of primate behavior, ecology, evolution, and/or vision. The ideal candidate will have experience with captive primates, animal training, eye-tracking methodology, coding, and/or visual system modeling. The applicant will need to complete their PhD before beginning the position.
