The Wong lab at the University of Nebraska Omaha is seeking applications for Ph.D. graduate students interested in the fields of behavioral neurogenomics or neuroethology. Research in the lab is currently funded by both the National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation.
The lab is broadly interested in the proximate mechanisms of variation in complex behaviors. Currently we are investigating how animals overcome stress, its underlying neuromolecular mechanisms and its impact on learning and memory capabilities. We draw on principles and methodologies from behavioral ecology, neuroethology, molecular neuroscience, to bioinformatics. Students should apply to the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Psychology Department (concentration in Neuroscience & Behavior, https://www.unomaha.edu/college-of-arts-and-sciences/psychology/academics/graduate-programs/neuroscience/index.php). Deadline to apply is January 2021.
The Wong lab currently has funds from NSF to support graduate students as Graduate Research Assistants. Strong applicants are also eligible for Teaching Assistant Fellowships with tuition waivers, health insurance, and competitive stipends.
