2021 WFAB: prof dev opportunity for jr faculty & postdocs, due May 21
Meetings & Workshops
Posted May 12

Join the WFAB community!

We invite early career animal behavior professionals to apply to join the Weaving the Future of Animal Behavior (WFAB) community. WFAB is a professional-development initiative that strives to advance the future of animal behavior science by supporting and promoting early career scientists through workshops, symposia, and long-term, multi-level mentoring. WFAB is funded by the Animal Behavior Society and the National Science Foundation (IOS-Animal Behavior #1833455), and is a collaboration with Claire Horner-Devine from Counterspace Consulting.

The WFAB experience begins with a workshop linked to the annual meetings of the Animal Behavior Society. Workshop participants are early career animal behavior professionals, including pre-tenure faculty and advanced postdocs, who form a deep and long-lasting community of scientists. We particularly encourage women and scientists from underrepresented groups to apply.

Participants in WFAB 2021 will gather virtually for a WFAB launch event (July 13, 1-3pm EST), WFAB programming during the 2021 Animal Behavior Society conference (Aug 3-6), and peer-coaching (POP) circles that meet regularly throughout the following year.  Click here for more information.

How to get involved: If you are an interested, early career scientist in animal behavior, please apply here by May 21 to join WFAB 2021. If you have any questions, please contact the WFAB leadership team (Emília Martins, Jen Fewell, Zuleyma Tang-Martinez) at [email protected].
