Job Description – Lecturer in Ecology
The Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia (
http://www.ecology.uga.edu/) invites applications for a 9-month, full-time Lecturer (non-tenure track). We seek candidates who are passionate about quality undergraduate education and who can contribute to mentoring students. www.activelearning.uga.edu. The successful candidate will show evidence of excellence in teaching, an ability to collaboratively support a growing academic program, and will have excellent organizational and time management skills.
Responsibilities include teaching five to six courses per year including marine mammal ecology and a combination of ichthyology, large-enrollment introductory courses in general ecology and/or environmental science, and other courses to be developed based on expertise and programmatic needs. Additional opportunities for summer teaching include an existing field-based version of the marine mammals course that is offered at the UGA Skidaway Institute of Oceanography. To apply, candidates must have a PhD in Ecology or a terminal degree in a related field, such as marine sciences, conservation biology, or zoology. Applications should be submitted electronically at

As a sea grant institution, the University of Georgia maintains numerous facilities for coastal research, education, and outreach, including the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography (
