Committee Updates

BEHAVIOR BLUESKY BLITZ!

The Communications Committee is excited to announce the reestablishment of a #BlueskyBehaviorBlitz to showcase our member’s interesting and diverse research! Participants will gain access to the Animal Behavior Society Bluesky Account for a day to share insights, experiences, and perspectives related to their research. Whether that is to showcase on going work in your lab, experiences with publishing, or things you wish you knew when starting out a PhD. We invite researchers of all stages to be part of this initiative by contributing their voices, engaging with the community, and helping broaden the reach and impact of current research. If you are interested, please fill out the google form and we will get in touch with you!

HELP SPREAD THE JOY ABOUT ANIMAL BEHAVIOR RESEARCH!

The Animal Behavior Podcast has recorded a few episodes and are now looking for someone with audio editing experience (formal or informal) to help finalize these episodes so they can be published efficiently! If you have any production experience and would like to join the team, or have questions, please reach out to Eric Arredondo: [email protected], thank you!

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

The ABS Latin American Affairs Committee wants to hear from you! We’ve created a short survey to help us tailor our activities – such as workshops, mentorship opportunities, and collaborations – to better support the needs of the ABS community. We invite all ABS members to complete the survey.

ABS OUTREACH FAIR HOSTED BY THE EDUCATION COMMITTEE

The ABS Education Committee is excited to host the ABS Outreach Fair on Saturday July 18th (details on location and exact time are being finalized). The Outreach Fair is a public outreach event where members of ABS lab groups as well as local science-focused organizations can host a table to get kids and adults interested in topics in science and animal behavior. It is typically hosted at a public location that already brings in children or families, like last year's amazing event at the Maryland Science Center (see picture)! We are looking for labs to join us in engaging young learners at this fun event. You can sign up using the Participation Form . Please reach out to Natalie van Breukelen ([email protected]) or Matt LeFauve ([email protected]) for more information!
