The Oregon National Primate Research Center is located in Beaverton, approximately 13 miles from Oregon Convention Center. As one of seven National Primate Research Centers supported by the National Institutes of Health, our mandate is to help people across generations live longer, healthier lives through scientific breakthroughs.
This event will feature a short presentation on the ONPRC, including animal care and behavioral management at the Center, followed by a walking tour of the breeding colonies of rhesus macaques and Japanese macaques (and maybe Hamadryas baboons!). Be sure to dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes!
Out of concern for the safety of our animals, we require that all persons who visit our campus provide proof of full vaccination (2 dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccines; 1 dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine) OR proof of a negative PCR test received within 48 hours of your visit to our campus. (Note: The PCR test is NOT the home testing kit, which is an antigen test. PCR tests may be accessed at some pharmacies, medical clinics, ZoomCare, and other locations that can be found online.)
For more information about the ONPRC, go to our website, www.ohsu.edu/onprc.
