Jobs & Postdocs
Posted Oct 24
The National Synthesis Center for Organismal Biology (NSCORE) is hiring its inaugural cohort of Postdoctoral Fellow Research Scientists. Based in the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology at Columbia University, these three scientists will help further NSCORE’s mission of merging organismal biology with computer science to build the field of computational organismal biology, and developing the AI tools and expertise needed to synthesize data—from molecules to individuals to ecosystems—and predict how organisms remain resilient in the face of change. Postdocs will spend half of their time working directly with one of NSCORE’s first three working groups (https://nscore.columbia.edu/content/working-groups), and half of their time conducting independent synthesis science using existing organismal and environmental data under the mentorship of affiliated faculty. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in science with a strong publication record, evidence of independent scholarship, and experience working with and leading interdisciplinary teams of scientists. Postdocs will receive a generous salary, office space at NSCORE, a modest research and travel allowance, and access to compute resources.
